Emtone Velashape

Emtone vs Velashape III : Which one is the best cellulite treatment?

Getting rid of cellulite can be a challenge! With so many factors that contribute to cellulite that are outside of our control like genetics and hormones, it’s a relief to know that we can take control of cellulite with the help of two effective treatments: Emtone and Velashape 3.

Both Emtone and Velashape 3 are state-of-the-art cellulite treatments, but each has very distinct methods. Velashape 3 melts fat and reduces the appearance of cellulite by taking inches off your body. Emtone offers skin tightening to even out skin tone so you don’t have to look at cottage cheese thighs in the mirror anymore. The combination of the two treatments can have you going from cottage cheese to smooth silky skin with just a few non-invasive sessions.

What is cellulite? What technology makes Emtone and Velashape 3 effective against cellulite? What are the treatments like? How many treatments will I need to see results? Are there any side effects? Am I a good candidate for treatments? These questions and more will be answered in this post.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is caused by the bands of connective tissue in the epidermis pulling against layers of fat, causing certain areas to pucker and bulge. This puckering can sometimes be seen on the surface of the skin, giving it an uneven tone that’s often described as orange peel or cottage cheese.

Everyone has some cellulite. Even people with low BMI have cellulite. While weight and diet can play a role in the appearance of cellulite, other factors like hormones, skin elasticity, age and genetics also contribute to the appearance of cellulite.

To have an idea of the level of cellulite you have, you can do the following self-analysis:

  • Level 1 – there’s no apparent cellulite when you are sitting or lying down, however, if you pinch your skin, you’ll see the tell-tale “orange peel” dimpling under the surface.
  • Level 2 – your cellulite appears when standing up, but not while lying down.
  • Level 3 – your cellulite appears both when standing up and while lying down.

Emtone and Velashape 3 are effective treatments for all three levels of cellulite appearance.

How do Emtone and Velashape 3 work?

Both Emtone from BTL and Velashape 3 utilize unique technologies to produce excellent results in cellulite reduction for clients. But how do they work exactly?

Emtone

The Emtone device uses radiofrequency to heat the subcutaneous layer of your skin to 108 – 111 degrees Fahrenheit. The heating of targeted areas under the skin’s surface stimulates collagen production. As we age, collagen production starts to drop off and the skin gets thinner. Whether you have naturally thin skin or your skin has thinned due to ageing, the appearance of cellulite is more pronounced with thin skin. That’s why the production of collagen is effective at reducing the appearance of cellulite, giving you smoother, tighter, more even-toned skin in the areas you’re treating.

Emtone also uses acoustic waves that stimulate circulation and support lymphatic drainage, helping the body expel excess liquids to reduce bloating and puffiness and enhance the tone and shape of the area being treated.

Velashape 3

Velashape 3 targets fat cells. To do this, a hand-held device is gently rolled over the targeted area(s) and the skin is suctioned by the device to loosen up the connective fibers that cause cellulite. Simultaneously, the skin is kneaded by massage rollers, giving you a deep-tissue massage that reshapes and contours the area. This suctioning and massaging help flush out excess liquids stored in the tissues which results in a less bloated and slimmer appearance.

In addition to the suctioning and massaging that flush out liquids and contour the treated area,  infrared light and radiofrequency target fat cells. The infrared light and radiofrequency break down the fat cell structures, causing the fat inside of them to melt and be released into the body where it’s flushed out by the lymphatic system. By shrinking the fat cells, clients get the benefit of reducing their measurements.

What areas can Emtone and Velashape treat?

Emtone:

  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Abdomen
  • Upper arms

Velashape:

  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Back
  • Arms

These problem areas are where fat deposits in the body tend to collect the most, causing the fat cells to put pressure on the bands that connect your subcutaneous tissues, resulting in a puckering effect that’s visible on the skin’s surface. That’s why by targeting these areas, Emtone and Velashape result in smoother, more even skin tone and reduced cellulite.

What can I expect during Emtone and Velashape treatments?

Emtone

During this quick 20-minute session, clients report feeling warmth in the area being treated due to the radiofrequency waves. It’s a generally relaxing experience with some clients saying that it compares to getting a hot stone massage.

Velashape

During this 30-45 minute session, some clients feel a warming sensation as the infrared light melts the fat cells. The suctioning and massaging are painless, and some clients say it’s like getting a deep tissue massage. As it is more vigorous than Emtone in terms of manipulation of the skin, some clients experience redness in the treated areas afterwards, but it goes away in a short time.

Are Emtone and Velashape safe?

Emtone is an FDA-approved non-invasive cellulite treatment with no effects or downtime. Clients lie on a grounding pad during sessions to ensure their safety. Each Emtone device has a shut-off system that prevents it from heating the skin above 111 degrees Fahrenheit, so there’s no danger of over-heating the skin.

Velashape is also FDA-approved and is totally non-invasive. While the treatment is more vigorous than Emtone, it is 100% safe and does not require any downtime.

Who are ideal candidates for Emtone and Velashape?

Anyone with cellulite can receive Emtone and Velashape treatments. However, pregnant women and those who use pacemakers are not candidates for Emtone or Velashape due to the radiofrequency waves they use.

Clients who are close to their ideal BMI will see best results, but clients with higher BMIs can benefit greatly from both treatments.

If you have any doubts about whether Emtone or Velashape are right for you, contact us and our trained experts will determine the best treatment for your goals and needs.

How many treatments should I get and how often?

You can get Emtone or Velashape  treatments up to twice a week or spaced out a week apart.

While most clients receive 4-6 of each treatment, everyone’s needs are different. Contact us at Skinic to talk to a specialist so we can design the ideal treatment for your needs.

When will I see results from my treatments?

Emtone stimulates the body to produce collagen, a process that takes about 12 weeks to show full results. Throughout this time, you’ll notice your skin becoming firmer and tighter. On average, clients who use Emtone experience a 59% increase of collagen, a 44% increase in skin thickness and a 64% increase in elastin.

Results after 2 sessions of Emtone

You’ll see results right away after getting Velashape treatments, but the full results in terms of measurements reduction will take about 4-6 weeks while the body expels the fat that’s melted during each treatment through the lymphatic system. 85% of patients report a 1cm-3in. reduction in circumference in the treated area(s).

Why should I opt for a combination of Emtone and Velashape?

There are a lot of reasons why this is an ideal duo for combatting cellulite. Here are the top reasons:

  • 1- The total time for the combined treatments is less than an hour with Velashape 3 taking 30 minutes and Emtone only 20 minutes.
  • 2- Neither of the treatments has any downtime so you can book them on your lunch break or in the middle of the day without messing up your schedule.
  • 3- You’ll look amazing! Between the contouring and circumference reduction from Velashape 3 treatments and the skin firming and tightening that Emtone offers, you can stop obsessing over your cellulite in the mirror and start obsessing about how incredible your new body looks.

Is there anything I should do before and after treatments?

Before:

It’s always a good idea to be hydrated before your sessions so that the lymphatic system has some help processing the melted fat from the Velashape 3 treatments. Hydrated skin also looks better, so it will help with the skin toning results of the Emtone treatments as well.

Afterwards:

There’s no downtime for either of these treatments so you can go about life as usual after receiving them. As mentioned above, hydration is always a help in processing the results of the treatments, so make sure to drink plenty of water after your sessions.

Neither of these treatments is meant to be a weight loss treatment, though weight loss may occur with the Velashape 3 treatment. Therefore, it’s important to have a balanced diet and exercise regime to keep your body in good health and good shape. The better you take care of your body, the less likely you’ll need to come back for repeat sessions.

Conclusion

If you want to reduce cellulite, you couldn’t pick a better team than Emtone + Velashape to melt fat, contour your body and tighten your skin. Say bye-bye to orange peel skin and hello to beautiful silky smooth skin with this powerhouse anti-cellulite combo!
